Alison Carroll has worked in museums and arts organisations in Australia since 1976, with a focus on 20th century and contemporary art of the Asia Pacific region.
Brought up in Melbourne, she lived for a year, in 1972, in Japan, and has since traveled extensively throughout Asia, understanding the cultures of the region, learning about Asian art and making contacts with artists and curators from Japan to Pakistan. She has worked in most countries of the region, though developing special arts programs with Japan, Korea, Indonesia and South Asia.
